About a million years ago I did an MA at the London College of Music, exploring the boundary between noise and music where I discovered that I am, in fact, hugely interested in the point at which noise becomes music. It’s psychological, musicological and cultural, and gloriously intriguing. I’d like to do a great deal more study in this area, having merely brushed a few dust microbes off the surface.
I am currently researching sonic recontextualisation, and composing using a self-inflicted manifesto based on altering the communicative purpose of sound based on context.
